Why We Chose Hachimantai as Our Home

 After searching for the perfect place to settle down, we decided on Hachimantai. There are several reasons for this choice, and we’d like to share them with you.

Beautiful Location

Hachimantai is a captivating tourist destination celebrated for its stunning autumn foliage and sakura blooms in spring. The area is part of Hachimantai National Park, which offers a diverse range of outdoor activities year-round, including skiing in winter and scenic hiking trails that showcase the region's breathtaking landscapes. Visitors do unwind in soothing onsen hot springs, immersing themselves in the natural beauty that surrounds them. So many tourists cannot be wrong. 

In short: We love the idea of being close to mountains and forests, making it easy to enjoy nature whenever we want. 

Proximity to Morioka

Another important factor is Hachimantai's proximity to Morioka. It’s just a short drive away, and local transport options make it easy to reach the city. Morioka has a shinkansen connection, which means we can travel to other parts of Japan quickly and efficiently. This is a huge advantage for us, as we want to stay connected while enjoying the tranquility of Hachimantai.

Our Plan for a Car

We also planned to buy a car, which made Hachimantai an even better choice. Having a car will give us the freedom to explore the surrounding areas and make trips to Morioka whenever we need. We were always prepared for this, and now it feels like the right decision.

Until we buy a secondhand car, we'll make do with rental cars. Clearly a car is high on our list of things to organize.

In summary, we chose Hachimantai because of its beautiful location, easy access to Morioka, and our plan to buy a car. We believe this area will provide us with a great balance of nature and convenience. We’re excited to make it our home!
