House Hunting in the Snow: Our Journey to Find the Perfect Home

After weeks of browsing listings online, we finally took the plunge and set up an appointment with a caretaker of the houses in the area. Our goal was clear: find a modern, recently built home, perfect for permanent living. We were eager to explore the options in the area and hopefully discover something that could become our dream home.

The day arrived, and we met with the agent for a quick chat. The air was crisp, and a 30cm layer of snow blanketed the ground, creating a picturesque scene. We piled into the car and set off to tour a handful of homes that fit our criteria. As we drove through the snow-covered streets in the forested area, anticipation and excitement built.

The first house was charming. It was a tall building with several floors but with limited space on each floor, and the view from the living room was stunning. But as much as we admired the view, it was a bit too small. We could already imagine ourselves running up and down the stairs all day long, which wasn’t ideal for the long term.

We continued the tour, but the next few homes didn’t impress us. They were older, less modern, and not quite what we had in mind. The charm of the snow and the excitement of house hunting started to fade. That is, until we arrived at the last house.

From the moment we pulled up, we knew this one was special. The house was spacious, with a beautiful garden that immediately caught our attention. Stepping inside, the feeling was even better. The rooms were open and airy, and the layout was perfect for what we envisioned. Then we saw the bath — enormous and luxurious. It was love at first sight.

As we stood there, taking in the space, it felt right. This was more than just a house; it felt like home. Our snowy day of house hunting had led us to the perfect place. Now, it was time to start imagining our future in it.
