Our December Adventure in Hachimantai

 In December 2023, we had a wonderful trip to Hachimantai, a beautiful place in Iwate Prefecture. We spent several days exploring the area before looking at some houses for sale. Our time there was filled with snow, relaxation, and stunning views.

Enjoying the Snowy Scenery

When we arrived in Hachimantai, we were amazed by the snow-covered landscape. Everything looked like a winter wonderland! The mountains and trees were blanketed in white, creating a peaceful atmosphere. We spent our days walking along the scenic trails and taking in the fresh, crisp air.

Relaxing at Hachimantai Heights Onsen

One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Hachimantai Heights Onsen. The onsen is known for its warm, mineral-rich water, which is the same water used in many local homes for their baths. We were excited to experience it for ourselves!

Soaking in the onsen was incredibly relaxing. The dinner was perfect too. It was a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring.

Staying at Kyounso Ryokan

We also stayed at Kyounso Ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn up the mountain. Our room had tatami mats and futons, giving us a cozy and authentic experience. In the evenings, we enjoyed delicious kaiseki dinners made with seasonal ingredients. Each meal was beautifully prepared and full of flavor.

Views of Mt. Iwate

During our visit, we were lucky enough to see Mt. Iwate without the usual clouds. The clear sky allowed us to fully appreciate the mountain’s beautiful shape. We took many photos, enjoying the stunning views of the snow and the blue sky.

Exploring Houses for Sale

After enjoying the beauty of Hachimantai, we began looking at houses for sale in the area. There were many options, from traditional homes to modern designs. Each house had its own charm, and we could easily imagine living in such a lovely place.

Conclusion

Our trip to Hachimantai in December was a wonderful experience. From the snowy landscapes to the relaxing onsen and delicious food, every moment was special. As we considered the possibility of making Hachimantai our home, we felt a deep connection to this beautiful area.
